What makes it distinct

The core fantasy

Sustainability, not sprawl

You never “win” by paving the map; growth and the living island have to rise together. The goal is prosperity where the water, soil, forest and climate can actually sustain: a fresh answer to the build-forever strategy game.

Unique selling point

The land is the interface

Every choice is reflected on a living 3D island: rivers run dry, natural disasters hit, lack of forests diminishes birds and fireflies, weather and a day/night cycle roll through. The game state is represented by the landscape.

Unique selling point

A mandate, not a score screen

You don't lose on a stat tripwire. You serve a fixed term and face a council review that renews, or ends, your stewardship based on four factions' trust. Consequence is political.

Unique selling point

A living web of consequence

Eight vitals, four factions and a real economy all feed each other in one connected model; only trade-offs you can see ripple across the island, follow the money trail to save coins and trace node by node on the Systems Map.

The core loop

Read the island

Eight vital systems, four factions, a real budget, all legible on the diorama and dashboard.

Act within limits

Spend limited quarterly actions: place builds, pass sponsored bills, negotiate with the council.

Resolve the crisis

Risk-driven events, weighted by your actual pressures, each a visible trade-off.

Simulate the season

Watch the world advance: growth, drift, weather, consequences ripple outward.

Face the five-year review

The council weighs faction trust and decides whether your mandate holds.

Command dashboard: vitals & faction trust flank the living island.

Every screen earns its place

what each view adds

Core mechanics

Vitals ×8

Water, Energy, Food, Soil, Biodiversity, Economy, Equity, Climate, held in constant tension.

Factions ×4

Farmers, Corporations, Ecologists, Indigenous council, each with grievances and a renewal vote.

Building

Free-form placement with painted valid zones, influence auras and adjacency synergies: forests feed farms, mines poison neighbours.

Policy

Faction-sponsored bills each quarter, where every choice earns trust somewhere and spends it elsewhere.

Economy

Quarterly credit, taxes, fluctuating export demand, upkeep, shortages and debt with interest.

Crises

A dozen rural-disaster archetypes, weighted by your real pressures and resolved through trade-offs.

Living world

Weather, day/night, wildlife, plus night fireflies whose count is a living proxy for ecological health.

Finale

Journey Replay rewinds the whole run on the diorama with charts and story beats. Endlessly shareable.

Revenue model. Premium, one-time purchase on Windows PC via Steam & itch.io at a $15 target price (open to discussion). Run-based replayability and a shareable finale support a long tail and content updates. Funding support is open to negotiation.

On-theme reach. The founders are active in the sustainability & rural-development community: a built-in, authentic audience. We can support grassroots, community-led marketing and are looking for a publisher to amplify it.

Why it's a strong bet

Uncrowded niche

Eco-management with genuine political stakes and a calm, welcoming face.

Built to be shared

The diorama, fireflies & replay are made for screenshots, GIFs and streams.

Low technical risk

Heavily test-covered systems on a lean, portable Godot codebase.

Cohesive vision

A single, confident art direction and design pillar already in place.
